Top 5: Spring Makeup Essentials

With every new season coming about, I always find myself changing up my makeup routine; taking out some old products, and adding some new ones that I have fallen in love with once again. The generic picture of spring is the light, golden sun gently beaming down but swept away by the soft breeze before the rays have a chance to caress your cheeks. Light, glowy, flushed and healthy- all words that lay under the blanket of 'The Perfect Spring Look,' and here are my top 5 ways to achieve that.

1. Bobbi Brown Corrector ($23)

With everything you make, you need to start off with a base to build upon. For a freshly faced spring look, a brightening under eye concealer is a must. Not only does it cover up dark circles, but it adds an extra gleam under your eyes making you look awake and rested. Its creamy consistency and peachy colour provides the perfect dewy finish to open up and brighten your eyes for the springtime sunshine.

2. Benefit High Beam ($26)

An illuminated face that catches the suns light adding an extra sheen or shine is something that suits the spring well. A liquid highlighter with a light pink base will give a natural glow to your winter ridden skin; brightening your complexion while accentuating your facial features.

3. MAC Mineralize Blush in Dainty ($25)

No healthy glow is complete without a little pink flush in your cheeks. A light and bright pink blush will give you a natural flush when applied to the apples of your cheeks. The slight sparkle that the mineralize blushes have adds a little more dimension to your cheeks making them pop out just that much more. Blushing cheeks are the perfect way to achieve a new, fresh look- just in time for the new season.

4. MAC Lustre Eyeshadow in Gleam ($15)

A simple sparkly shadow all over the lids is a care free, yet polished way to give a nice 'gleam' to your eyes. A shadow that has a hint of peach and bronze, with some gold sparkle will pull together any spring look. If your looking for more depth or definition, try a natural look by running some bronzer through the crease with a fluffy brush. For that fresh face look, simple and light eyeshadow is the key to achieve it. A peachy gold shadow lightly dusted across your lid will give you a fresh sheen while bringing out your natural eye colour.

5. Stila Lip Glaze in PiƱata CH (Sample Size, 3 pack for $12)

A little lip gloss is just the thing to tie together any look. A berry-watermelon colour is the perfect fit to add a wash of colour to your pout. A pigmented lip gloss is not only ideal for a pop of colour, but is easy to throw on along with a little mascara for those rushed mornings. Just a little colourful gloss will instantly brighten up your face for the sunny days to come.

This spring I'm looking forward to using these products that I've fallen in love with even more for a few soft, brightening looks to go along with the beautiful weather to come.
